'These children are the Kingdom's pride and joy'

Let us celebrate publicly the joy of the gift of God to very brokenhearted parents.

About four years ago a friend had told me about her daughter's trials with ectopic pregnancies and the heartbreak. Several weeks later the Lord prompted me to buy a pack of new baby vests, to pray over one and give to my friend's daughter, I didn't do it!
This was based on the story of Paul in Acts 19:12

'so that even handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched him were taken to the sick, and their illnesses were cured and the evil spirits left them'.

But only a couple of weeks later my friend informed me with great excitement that her daughter was pregnant and could we pray for a full term pregnancy. I told her about what I had NOT done but we still prayed over the baby vest
and she gave it to her daughter to help her faith to believe God. Four years later this precious mother has two beautiful healthy sons.

Nine months ago she asked for another baby vest for a friend who had lost several unborn babies many nearly full term. She now has a precious gift from God the Father of her longed for baby. Spurred on by faith in the Word of God and the reminder of the baby vest there are now several little babies around the world!

Just like the red cord and the story of Rahab (previous blog 'Safety and Security'), the faith is not in the baby vest - it is not a magic remedy! The baby vest just serves to remind us that we have asked the living God to fulfill His Word and it enables us to offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving when we are not feeling particularly happy or thankful but to tell God we are trusting Him and Him alone to perform His miracle.

Remember Sarah who was well past the menopause but God had given His Word to her husband Abraham, Hebrews 11:11-12

Then there was Hannah who cried her way to faith in God, 1 Samuel 1:15-20

I love the Shunammite woman who obviously had grown to accept the stigma of barrenness and would not even admit she had a desire for a baby, 2 Kings 4:14 -17. Just the prayer of a man of faith and a Word from God was all it took to turn her world upside down.

God has a very special place in His heart for women whose deep desire is to have a baby

Luke 1:37 'For nothing is impossible with God' This is a brilliant promise to build your faith on to trust God for your miracle. Talk to God today for His Word for your situation whatever that is, write it down and speak it out to establish your faith.
